Creating background images
|
| |
To create your own background image, you can either
design one using NotateIt then
save your page as an image or
use a graphics program like Paint,
PaintShop Pro or similar, that can save your image
in any of the following formats:
For a full screen image, set the size of your image to the size of your screen resolution (e.g. 800 x
600 or 1024 x 768).
If you're using a Tablet PC in portrait mode, your image size should be 768 x
1024.
Depending on the display options you choose, setting
the exact background size avoids any distortion when the image is
viewed on screen.
The file size for background images can be quite large, depending on the number
of colours you're using.
As an example, one of the backgrounds you can download from the resources on
this web site is a pale blue graph paper, which uses a 16-colour palette.
This file is 384KB in size. If this background was saved as a two-colour image
(black and white), the file size would be 96KB. If it was saved as a 256-colour
image, the file size would be 769KB.
There are lots of background images that you can download from NotateIt's
online User Resource Area.
To access these resources, open NotateIt and from the menu bar go to:
Help | Resources
and Support
Use these images as they are or adapt them in a suitable graphics program to
suit your application.
Another way of creating background images is to scan something that you
already have on paper. Any type of form is suitable for this.
If you're using NotateIt as a presentation aid,
then you might want a more decorative background.
Some of our decorative backgrounds are scanned images of hand-made papers. Once
you've scanned your source document, you may have to crop the image to a size
that fits your screen resolution and reduce the colours to make a smaller file
size. You'll then have a very personal and totally unique background.
Remember, if you set the transparency value for the background
of your image,
any colour that you set for the NotateIt
background
(Layer 1)
will shine through!
